Registry 101

We just got our first fabulous wedding gift and it's all hitting me. The wedding is so soon! Among the many tedious and un-fun things we have to do, the registry is one area that should be fun. And it is! But oh so tricky! How many items do you register for? How expensive should they be?
At this point, my Macy's registry is pretty curated, but my Crate and Barrel one needs work. Barry took care of our Sears one - that one is for tools only. Macy's is the most fun because they have everything. Adding the kitchen stuff has been a ball. I've decided to go with all stainless steel stuff because I can't decide on a color scheme for my kitchen (I have major issues with decorating a house I rent. It's so hard for me to do. Not that I've ever owned, but I've moved 7 times since I was 21 and have never really been able to nest. I digress...). Everyone and their mother has a red kitchen, so I definitely didn't want to do that. But I also can't decide on a color, so stainless steel it is.

So...any registry tips out there? Experiences? Regrets?

  1. i have that same kitchenaid!! i don't love it because it's bulky, but hey- it's a kitchenaid and it works wonderfully. <3

  2. I have the same one too! Thankfully we have a nice corner of the kitchen counter where it can live without being in the way. We went with stainless stuff as well. I think it's more fun and more cost effective to switch up your linens and stuff like that than small appliances.
