1 cup of softened butter
3/4 cups of granulated sugar
3/4 cups of packed light brown sugar
2 eggs 1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 and 1/4 cups of flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of hot water
1 cup of chocolate chips
- Preheat oven to 375.
- Cream butter and both sugars. Beat in eggs, salt, and vanilla.
- Stir in 1 and 1/4 cups of flour.
- Dissolve baking soda in hot water, then stir into mixture.
- Stir in the rest of the flour (1 cup)
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Drop spoonfulls of dough onto cookie sheet. The real recipe calls for teaspoonfulls. I like mine a little bigger.
- Bake for about 10-12 minutes.
